Ensalada nga Gulaman

No, this isn’t the kind of gulaman that we have at home in Iloilo.  All I know is that it is a large seaweed shredded into very thin strips so that, from a distance, it looks almost like our very own gulaman. I had this for dinner with some fried fish. That would be “Sampat”, perfect combination. (more…)

ARE YOU CRAZY? $4.69 for Eden Cheese at Seafood City-LA. Samantala 30.50 pesos lang yan sa Eunilane, Kalayaan when I was in Manila last year. That's not even a dollar! ala when I was back

ARE YOU CRAZY!!?? I always blurt this out everytime I pass by the refrigerated section of Seafood City-LA. $4.69 for Eden Cheese!! Samantala 30.50 pesos lang yan sa Eunilane, Kalayaan when I was in Manila last year. That's not even a dollar! Seafood City, can you come up with a more reasonable price? Bibili pa seguro ako kung $2.50 lang ang presyo.

Nice, huh? What you think? It’s a bit too photographic-looking and not stylized enough like the Byzantine mosaics I admire, but I like it nevertheless. (more…)
